The Last Symphony
"The Last Symphony" is an unofficial Efteling game where you step into the shoes of a detective trying to discover the truth behind Danse Macabre and the missing orchestra!
This is a university project I did during my first year at Hanze UAS.
Project Type:
Group University Project (of 4)
My Role & Responsibilities:
Concept art; 3D modeling & Sculpting; Texturing; Rigging & Animation
Software used:
!! The trailer was not made by me !!

Concepting
In this project, I took the role of a lead artist. One of the main responsibilities I had was creating the main character, a female detective based in the 60s. The style we went for is stylized 3D and hand-painted textures. To support my work and keep the work between me and the other artist consistent, I created mood boards and conducted research.

Once the research was done, I moved on to sketching and made a few designs.

Final design of choice

3D Workflow
I started with blocking out the character. Then I moved into polishing the look by combining the objects and sculpting the details on the face, hair, and modeling the clothes.

I also worked on the retopology of the character for both body and hair.

Texturing
The textures I baked & painted by hand in Substance 3D Painter

Rigging & Animation
I built the rig myself and created all character animations in Blender. I also made intro animation for our game using Unity's animator.

Animation - Walking with lantern
Animation - Idle, tapping the lantern
Animation - Death
Animation - Win dance
Animation - Playing lyre
Animation - Playing trombone
Animation - Taking hit
